R. Douglas Hanson, II

R. Douglas "Doug" Hanson, II is an Attorney in the Litigation Section of King and Ballow in Nashville, Tennessee. Doug's practice areas primarily focuses on complex commercial and federal litigation, Entertainment Law and class action defense filed throughout the United States including California and New York.

Doug is an experienced class action, trial and appellate court attorney.  He has litigated and tried cases in State and Federal courts in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Florida, Mississippi, New York, New Jersey, Nevada, Pennsylvania, South Dakota and Tennessee ranging from general liability to large exposure and complex commercial, construction and medical malpractice cases.  He spent the majority of his initial 21 years as an attorney primarily defending doctors, lawyers, hospitals, nursing homes, accountants, pharmacists, dentists and brokers.  He has represented large companies and plaintiffs in class actions, collective actions and mass tort cases on matters including securities, banking, ERISA, product liability, defective drug, medical device, environmental, consumer deception, employment and wage and hour. 

Doug received his law degree in 1995 and served as a Judicial Clerk for Appellee Court Judge Paul G. Summers and as Judicial Clerk and Staff Attorney for Justice Janice M. Holder of the Tennessee Supreme Court.  He has an undergraduate degree in Insurance and Risk Management and he has passed and held both a Series 7 and a Series 66 Securities license.
